As part of joint efforts to improve infrastructure and strengthen essential public services, the Stabilization Support Unit (SSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Street Lighting Department of Aleppo City Council and the Internal Security Directorate to implement a solar-powered street lighting project in the targeted neighborhoods.
The project is supported by the Rashad Program and funded by the U.S. State Department.
Project Objectives
The project aims to enhance public safety, community security, and service delivery by installing solar-powered street lighting systems across the neighborhoods of Al-Shiyoukh, Al-Sheikh Maqsoud, and Al-Ashrafiyah in Aleppo Governorate.
- Installation of 331 solar-powered streetlights with new lighting poles.

Community Engagement Activities
In addition to infrastructure rehabilitation, the project includes a series of community dialogue and engagement sessions that will bring together representatives of the Internal Security Directorate and members of the local community.
