Discussion Session on Legislative Priorities
Damascus – The Syrian Community Observatory Network – Stabilization Support Unit held a dialogue session in Damascus, aimed at discussing legislative priorities during the current phase and enhancing the exchange of perspectives and expertise in a way that contributes to improving legislative performance.
The session was moderated by Bashar Al-Hawi, where discussions focused on the importance of integration between parliamentary work and the needs of society, as well as the necessity of aligning legislative priorities with the requirements of the current stage.
The session was attended by a number of parliament members, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, in addition to the Higher Elections Committee, alongside representatives of unions, civil society organizations, and persons with disabilities.
The session addressed several key themes, most notably:
- The role and responsibilities of parliament members.
- Legislative priorities during the current phase.
- The priorities of Syrian society during the current stage.
The session witnessed in-depth discussions that reflected the diversity and expertise of the participants, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships between official institutions and civil society in order to achieve a more effective response to citizens’ needs.
