Community Dialogue Session – Social Contract | Jaramana
The Stabilization Support Unit (SSU) organized a community dialogue session in Jaramana titled "Social Contract", as part of a series of meetings aimed at fostering community dialogue and addressing key societal issues.

The session was facilitated by Dr. Zaidoun Al-Zoubi and brought together more than 30 participants representing diverse segments of Syrian society, engaging in in-depth and comprehensive discussions on the concept of the social contract.

Participants reviewed key historical theories of the social contract, analyzed its main actors, and discussed the rights and responsibilities associated with each party within this framework.
The session concluded with initial insights and proposals on how to develop a balanced social contract that reflects the current reality and contextual specificities of Syria.

This session marks the tenth dialogue organized by the Stabilization Support Unit in Jaramana, as part of an ongoing series addressing critical societal topics, including state-building, governance and institutional strengthening, social cohesion, and the development of local services.
These efforts fall under the project "Enhancing National Participation and Building Trust – Bridges", funded by the European Union and the governments of Germany and Denmark, as part of the Peace Initiative in Syria implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
