Community Dialogue Session in Homs Discusses the Social Contract
The Stabilization Support Unit (SSU) organized a community dialogue session in the city of Homs in cooperation with Yalla Syria Foundation and the Harmony Project Forum, titled “The Social Contract.” The session was held as part of efforts to enhance spaces for community dialogue around shared national issues.
The session focused on discussing the concept of the social contract as one of the key foundations that regulate the relationship between the state and society. Participants explored the nature of this contract and its various parties, in addition to examining the mutual rights and responsibilities between them, and the role this relationship plays in strengthening stability and community security in Syria.
The session also provided an interactive space for exchanging perspectives and experiences among participants from diverse social backgrounds, contributing to a deeper understanding of shared issues and opening the door for constructive dialogue on ways to strengthen social cohesion during the current phase.
This session comes as part of the activities of the project “Enhancing National Participation and Building Trust – Jusoor,” which aims to expand community participation and strengthen trust among different components of society through dialogue, consultation, and community capacity building.
The project is funded by the European Union, Germany, and Denmark, as part of the Peace in Syria Initiative implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
